Michael Jordan was an awesome basketball player. In fact he was the best player ever! He was the 1991 NBA champion and he got the trophy. Michael was born on January 17, 1963 and hasn't died yet. But he is retired. Michael also won the series MVP in 1998. That was when my brother was born. Michael was the number 23 throughout his entire career. He is retired now but he is still the best to everyone. Michael sets a very good example to kids. He is my favorite player too. I hope he lives forever! I choose Michael because of how good he is. And because he has won lots of awards. He sounds like a very nice man. Michael Jordan makes a good role model to kids that love to play basketball. And everyone can be like him, if they really try. In 1929 on January 15, a baby named Martin Luther King, Jr. was born. in Atlanta, Georgia. But in those days the whites and blacks went to different schools. Blacks had to give up their seats for whites. And whites called blacks 'boy' no matter how old they were. They had to drink from different fountains, too. But in Martin's life, he had two friends that were white and one day he was told that the two friends could no longer play. Bet he was sad. Well, me too. When he was an adult, Dr. King, Jr. said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character". And after that the country changed and passed new laws. And after a short life time he died in Tennessee. When he died a lot of people came to his funeral on April 4, 1968. We remember him because he gave us freedom.
